How to be a Johnny’s Idol? (A Comprehensive Guide by the “A”!)
DUDES! DUDES! DUDES! This is for you all, yo~!
I was digging up old files from AMNOS.net when I viewed the content of one of my old mySQL databases that I downloaded for safekeeping and backup. The data that I viewed were content from my first few visitors who visited the first version of the site and left comments in a guestbook that I designed and installed (I even forgot the guestbook script too, but I remembered that it was also a Japanese-made guestbook script). There were two or three visitors who happen to be Japanese dudes (kinda weird, one of them wrote in not-too-fluent English but understandable enough, two of them wrote in Japanese) who actually asked me if I knew the process of becoming a Johnny’s idol. I was a total noob fan of Johnny’s back then, but I did some extensive research and asked a few friends who are general Johnny’s fans if they knew the process. I was able to actually aided those guys, though I’m not quite sure how old they really were.
So for those dudes who wishes for love of the female mass, here is a comprehensive guide that I was able to dig up. I don’t know if this process is still intact today, but keep in mind that the following process was effective back in 2002.
JE Groups & The 24-Hour TV
Yeah, yeah. Another long-ass “novel-length” entry. Go figure.
But man, I seriously gotta love new fan girls— especially the ones who are seriously biased about their favorite group that they don’t even bother doing some research or ask around fellow JE (yes, I said JE, not just Arashi) fans about the history of their favorite group with the inspiring every-summer event known as the 24-Hour TV.
Now, before some of you start getting oversensitive and gang up on me for “acting oh-so-high and mighty” and picking on the newer fans again, I’ll repeat again like the last time. This has nothing to do with you, but if you keep on believing that I’m targeting you specifically no matter how many times must I re-explain and repeat myself over and over again about my intentions on my writings, then man, you must be very self-absorbed to even think of that, wouldn’t you say? But I do encourage you to read on because I think all fans should also be aware of this, not just Arashi, but all JE fans.
Sweet September 2009
For those who live in the Western Hemisphere as well as Japan and Korea, all the kids head back to school (though some even go back to school at late August?).
But for some of us, I look forward to a Sweet September. It marks the the end of summer, literally, and in to the cooler, slightly gloomier season. It also marks somewhat a beginning for us as well. For one thing, my mother’s birthday is coming up on the 16th. Though it’s not that important to many of you, any person’s birthday regardless whether you know that person or not personally is still an important event. It just marks another year of that person living to this very earth.
J-Pop/Showbiz Male Idol Fan Girls are the WORSE… (II)
Dude-stas and Dudette-stas, after reading (and contributing) your comments left on the original, I figured that it would be really unfair of me to add all your contributions without giving any proper credit to where it’s due. After all, I don’t think people would read an updated article and care to see the wonderful people who helped me compile our beloved J-Pop/Showbiz Male Idol Fan Girl Habits list. I should seriously write a whole different section with just the list alone and leave out the necessary (or unnecessary) side comments in the original articles.
Speaking of fangirling, last night, after talking to a good old friend about the good ol’ days, there was another major reason why I dropped out of J-idol fangirling (more specifically Arashi and general Johnny’s dudes in particular). It was a real good damn reason too. Even trying to get back to J-idol fangirling has become very difficult for me. It’s not because of the newer fans who scream and go rabid at those who like the same idol as they do, but there’s a lot more… a whole lot more… than these fanatical delirious fan girls. Heck, I think it’s the most important reason why I dropped out in the first place. But, I’ll figure out how to explain this at some other article because now isn’t the right time.
A Thought About “Showbiz” Rumors
Last night, Denise showed me a one-shot Arashi fanfic featuring the dear leader, Satoshi Ohno. For those who follow her LJ frequently, you should know the fanfic that I’m referring to. Unfortunately she had to start all over because somehow the format of her fanfic got screwed up somewhere while we were going through some basic editing and proofreading (for grammar, spelling, etc.). But never fret, folks, the fanfic will be back up again.
I will be honest. This is another thing that I do not miss during the J-Pop/Drama fan days (to be more specific, Johnny’s and Arashi). It cringes me big time whenever I hear about these rumors being spread out, thanks to the notorious types of publications known as Friday and Bubka. To be more specific, it’s not the rumor itself that cringes me. It’s the reactions from the public that cringes me, most especially the notorious fan girls who feel they should kill themselves or abolish their absolute loyalty to their favorite idol once they hear this particular rumor, scandal, whatever.
J-Pop/Showbiz Male Idol Fan Girls are the WORSE…
We’re all fans of something, from our special interests, hobbies, and yes, people.
I am not denying that I was a major fan of J-Pop/Showbiz (in general, okay?
) three years ago, more specifically towards Johnny’s dudes and similar dudes like w-inds., Lead, and so on and so forth. Heck, I was one of the very few fans back in the early 2000’s who had a very huge fan site dedicated to Arashi and I often get recognized by fellow fans for that one fact. Of course, as I grew older, I also grew over it. I admit that I missed those days when I had full dedication in to maintaining the upkeep of my Arashi fan site. For those long time fans who don’t remember, does anyone remember amnosNET?
Anyway, though there are a lot of things I’ve missed of being a fan of Arashi (and just J-Pop/Showbiz in general), and yet there are a lot of things that I seriously don’t miss. The ones that I don’t miss is what I’m writing about in this entry.

Well, regarding Lent, it’s just one of the things that I decided to write about. I wouldn’t...
I think I should post something about Lent, too. It IS an important season in the country… BTW, I think...
interesting… Now I remember that one of my initial purposes in having a blog was to practice my grammar...
Yup. Sei Shonagon lived from around 930 BC till her deat in the early 1100s, so I would probably estimate...
That’s quite interesting. It’s kinda neat to think someone “blogged” way back then....
